Our first chance to rest our tired legs, with the Kyushu phase of the ride almost complete, Kitakyushu is a great town to take a break and recover. A vibrant and multi-cultural place, we’ll explore the city itself as well as some of the surrounding areas, including Moji, a port town that has gone through lots of redevelopment and become an artsy and cultural destination. We’ll also get to sample the regional specialty: Baked Curry. If time permits, we’ll hop on a ferry across the sea to Shimonoseki to visit the Karato Fish Market.
With a sento in our hotel, we’ll get to soak our legs again before the hard work continues in the morning.
